In Loving Memory of Remy – A Life of Loyalty and Love

In Loving Memory of Remy Born on July 15, 2016, Remington—fondly known as Remy—was a spirited and affectionate Rottweiler whose life was filled with joy, adventure, and unconditional love. From grocery carts to tubing trips, Remy lived as a true member of the family, making friends everywhere she went. Despite her battles with hip dysplasia and later, bone cancer, Remy’s gentle nature and strong spirit never faded. Her journey touched many lives, and her memory will forever be honored in the hearts of her family and within our Memorial Garden at Canton Animal Hospital.

Remy's Memorial Portrait – Canton Animal Hospital

Remington (Remy) A Beautiful Runt of a pure breed Rottweiler litter was born in 7/15/2016. At 10 weeks old my Finance Amanda and I brought her home! My mom and dad as well as my Finances parents were there to cherish our special moment!! We were ecstatic as I truly started falling in love with Remy!! I told myself as well as loved ones I would prove to everyone that Rottweilers are not just beautiful & loyal, but they are truly loving to anyone with it all starting from at home! To my surprise, the next day coming home from work! My mom and Mother-in-law were at my house!? Why you ask?? Well to allow Remy to play with two of her own sisters from the same litter! Roxy my mother’s now Rottweiler pup & Marlow my mother In laws puppy!! I was in disbelief!! It was a beautiful moment to know Remy would have her sisters to enjoy life with!! My Neighbor Dennis came over to witness & was proud as he was my inspiration to getting a Rottweiler in the first place! Dennis gave me the experience of a loving Rottweiler because he has had many of them through the years. So here we are 10 week old Remy & I journey starts! Let’s get her socialized!! So anywhere I go she goes! From our local food market in the shopping cart on a blanket grocery shopping! To Home Depot where she created her first fan base with the employees! As well at our local bank where she created another one! These events carried on through her loving years to places like events in Down Town Northville streets to Plymouths!!! She would be carried, walked or pulled in a wagon with great pride!! Remy took in all the attention and experience like a spung!! I couldn’t have been happier to enjoy all the attention she received everywhere we went through the years!! Remy Even went to every family social event! We also enjoyed taking her to friends birthday parties to Tubing Trip where she and my family tubed for 5hrs!! She was just (Part Of The Family) nothing different!!

Remy’s Battle’s Through Life.

So around 2 years old while a play session on my parents 5 acres, Remy & Roxy played hard, and often! But this time it was different. i found Remy limping… after a few days of rest she would be fine. I thought hmm she just played too hard. but it would happen again, so we took action and got some x-rays. We found out she had mild hip dysplasia! This was a huge hit to my heart as I felt she would be limitless to anything in life! But all would be ok as with proper diet & on glucosamine treats, I found she would have just as good as a life as she deserved with slight restrictions. Years flew by with many events and activities & love where we found ourselves at a “retired age” is what I called it. So at little over 9.7 Years old, she slipped by not allowing me to carry her out of my truck! & this time after some rest limping didn’t go away! I did research as i felt she may have torn a ACL! I realized I needed a professional & I found Canton Animal Hospital. Dr. Vighnesh & Dr. Dhaliwal welcomed us with open arms! Which made us feel safe with our decision. Unfortunately, we found that Remy had Bone cancer in the same knee we thought was a torn ACL. With her discomfort and quality of life being deteriorated, both Dr. Vig & Dr. D explained to us with love and care we need to Honor her by allowing her to Rest Peacefully. My wife Amanda and I were blessed enough to be able to bring our baby home for two days to give her every bit of love and attention she deserved from us! From Sirloin Steaks to double bacon Cheeseburgers, Remy ate everything with love and plenty of drool!!!! Lol . We laid Remy To Rest Peacefully with the support from Dr Dhaliwal holding me up! Rest Easy Remy! We will never forget you!! I would like to thank Dr. D for the inspiring speeches and support you gave me during this extremely hard time.
